NEW YORK’S ICONIC EMPIRE STATE BUILDING GOES MAGENTA FOR UN WOMEN’S HeForShe ARTS WEEK WEDNESDAY MARCH 8, 2017

Film stars, world leaders and UN officials convene at the iconic Empire State Building to kick off HeForShe Arts Week on International Women’s Day

WHAT:   First launched in 2016 by UN Women’s Global Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson, UN HeForShe Arts Week initiative aims at raising awareness and funding for gender equality through the arts. Now in its second year, Arts Week coincides with International Women’s Day (March 8) and will be celebrated globally for a week – with events taking place worldwide, from São Paulo to Bangkok. All across New York City, the historic Empire State Building will be visible as it lights up in magenta marking the opening of HeForShe Arts Week.
