One Young World has just released its 2024/25 Impact Report, highlighting the extraordinary work of its global Community of young leaders. The selection of young leaders featured in the report has already impacted 8.15 million people, including work aligned with SDG 5 that has equipped 123,414 women and girls to fight against gender inequality. These Ambassadors represent a small but influential portion of One Young World’s 18,700+ strong Community, who have collectively reached 58.57 million people since 2010. An average value of $16 social return has been generated for every $1 invested in Ambassador projects.

Swara Patel - India
Swara founded the Period Society to address menstrual taboos, provide mental health education, and distribute period products. The organisation trains individuals to become menstrual health educators in their local communities and distributes period products sewn locally so that communities can achieve menstrual product self-sufficiency. To date, the Period Society has distributed over 1.2 million menstrual hygiene kits and educated 60,000 people through menstrual hygiene sessions. The organisation plans to launch programmes on sexual and reproductive health shortly, including a pilot campaign to raise awareness about the HPV vaccine.
Eliezer Lappots-Abreu - Dominican Republic
Eliezer is the President and Executive Director of Health Horizons International Foundation (HHI), a non-profit organisation founded in 2009 with a mission to strengthen primary health care in the Dominican Republic. The Foundation impacted almost 1.8 million people through its various combined programmes, including Movimiento Mujeres, a programme focused on women’s health, that trains women to become community healthcare workers. The programme has significantly improved access to reproductive healthcare in target communities.
Eldine Glees - Angola
Eldine co-founded the Women's International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) Angola and has spent over a decade navigating the intersection of gender and climate justice within the global shipping industry. With less than 2% of women represented in maritime careers, Eldine was on track to be Angola’s first female captain, but a failed eyesight test prevented her from assuming the position. Instead, she pivoted to become a leader on the operational side of maritime shipping, taking on safety training, crewing, and operational tasks.
