New York, 24 September 2024 - Since 2014, HeForShe has bolstered a global movement, engaging more than 2 million men and individuals of all genders in championing gender equality. This unique initiative, led by UN Women, has driven 3 billion conversations on topics ranging from closing the pay gap to combating violence against women, reaching more than 36 million people in 2023 alone, including those in crisis-affected areas.

17 Global leaders unveiled their progress against groundbreaking solutions for gender equality in the 2022 HeForShe Alliance Impact Report. UN Women reports that it will take nearly 300 years to achieve full gender equality. The HeForShe Alliance has a clear and resounding response to this – a redoubled commitment to male allyship and concerted, inclusive action to drive change.

(New York, 21 September 2022) Against a global backdrop of receding rights for women and girls, as well as collective crises like climate change, conflict, and natural disasters, the HeForShe Summit gathered political, business, global development and social justice leaders to review progress on gender equality across countries, companies and communities.

(New York, NY, 30 March 2022) UN Women announced HSBC USA , as the latest member of its HeForShe Alliance. The HeForShe Alliance is a group of high-profile leaders across government, business, non-profit and academia driving accelerated progress toward gender equality. HSBC will target an ambitious commitment to achieve 35% female representation in senior leadership by 2025 and act as a thought leader to advocate for the importance of gender pay gap data as a part of their Alliance membership.
