In the southwestern Chinese city of Kunming, the Yunnan Mingxin Social Work Service Center has worked for nearly 10 years aiding survivors of gender-based violence. The organization’s services range from an abuse hotline to a shelter, “Nesting House”, that operates in an undisclosed location. Since April 2023, the organization has been a member of the network of local civil society organizations in China to receive support from UN Women.

This partnership represents a significant step forward in the mission to achieve global gender equality.

Police forces across the UK came together in South Wales on Wednesday 1st May 2024 for a national HeForShe event. The event focused on the theme of ‘Working Together’ and how policing can work together towards gender equality. Speakers highlighted progress and shared good practice of how HeForShe is embedded within police forces and its impact is being spread wider.

In a groundbreaking exploration of masculinity and feminism, ARTE, a public broadcaster focusing on audiences in Germany and France, recently aired a one-hour documentary titled "Men and Feminism. Is that Possible?" The program delves into the evolving landscape of gender equality and features insightful interviews with various advocates, including Fikri Anıl Altıntaş, one of the HeForShe advocates for UN Women Germany. Altıntaş's passionate activism, along with other male allies and renowned scholars and feminist activists such as Carolin Wiedemann or Dr.

29 May 2024 is International Day of UN Peacekeepers and to commemorate this day, we look back at the “HeForShe for Peacekeeping” session held last year as part of the Korea Peacekeeping Forum for Women's Empowerment in Seoul, Korea. Military officials and diplomats from around the world met in Seoul to celebrate and support women’s full, equal and meaningful participation in peace operations.

In 2019, Tec de Monterrey joined the HeForShe movement to support gender equality. This month, after five years, it renewed its commitments through a Collaboration Agreement with UN Women Mexico signed in March 2023. This agreement focuses on implementing the Safe Campus Programme Pilot for the Prevention of Gender-Based Violence. The renewed commitments emphasize the importance of creating an inclusive university environment where everyone can fully exercise their rights.
