The HeForShe movement in Ukraine has released a new educational film "Stereotypes do not define you", which starred famous Ukrainians. First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova, singer Alina Pash, journalist Michael Schur, host and director of the Wild Theater Yaroslava Kravchenko, designer Ivan Frolov, ReFace Head of product and growth Maria Ponomarchuk, official makeup artist of Maybelline NY in Ukraine Mitya Hrybko and football referee Sofia Prychyna shared their experience.

On July 23rd, Togo officially joined the growing number of countries across the continent and globe that have signed on to the HeForShe global solidarity movement. The official launch was marked by a message delivered by HE Madam Victoire Tomegah Dogbé, the country's first female to hold the prime minister's office and officiate as head of the Togolese government. Jana Qudah, 17 years old, leads the communication team at the Jubilee School HeForShe club, the first of its kind in Jordan to engage adolescents on gender equality and women’s empowerment. From equal representation to leadership, Jana is designing creative content to drive the social media conversation on everyday issues facing young men and women.

In 2018, as part of Exelon’s commitment to HeForShe, the Exelon Foundation invested $3 million over three years to encourage and support young women’s involvement in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and develop tomorrow’s workforce.

Arab Shah, a rickshaw driver from Peshawar, is enabling many schoolgirls to get an education and pursue their dreams. He has been providing free pick and drop services to these girls for six years now and aspires to do so as long as he can.

In 2018, UN Women Germany launched the HeForShe Germany Catalyst Program with four catalysts and expanded to include two more catalysts on March 8, 2020. These six catalysts use their expertise in a wide range of formats to raise awareness and motivate people to take an active role in promoting gender equality.

In Uganda, the partner Slum Aid Project (SAP) - a grantee of the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) and Spotlight Initiative partnership - developed a song called “Wise Up” with Mthetho Tshemese (stage name iNDLOBONGELA), a South African based artist. Men are using music to raise awareness of the importance of ending violence against women and girls. Together they are mobilizing fellow Ugandan artists to use music to change individual social behaviours that fuel gender-based violence.
